Matchday #2 was not as nice to the Home team W75 ATTACK as the week before. The ATTACK was defeated by JB Marine 3-1 in an early morning tilt.
An early goal by JB Marine on some suspect defending and goalkeeping was washed away by solid finishing from Rocket, midway through the first half. It remained that way until the whistle sounded.
The second half saw JB Marine put the ATTACK back on their heels, and failing to produce many chances. The few chances that fell to the ATTACK boys were thwarted by solid defending, or pushed just wide of the net. JB was able to capitalize on a nice passing play to take the lead, and a late handball just outside the box led to the third and final goal.
Each goalkeeper for the ATTACK was able to make some fine saves in order to keep the game close, but it just wasn't enough to prevent their 1st loss of the season.
Matchday #3 comes with a quick turnaround, as the ATTACK will play @ Kolping Kicks SC tomorrow afternoon in an attempt to right the ship with their first away match of the year. On the road, away from the wife and kids, after a devastating loss can be a tough challenge to overcome.
Luckily, these boys won't face that fate, as they are far to young to worry about such things. I feel they will return with the same youthful exuberance they have been known to show time and again.
Cheers to all the boys for a hard fought battle, and on to the next one. Jazz
